About Our Programs
Because our programs are rooted in Hawaiʻi’s unique marine environment, there is a lot of emphasis on place-based learning. We encourage students to understand the connection between culture, community, and the health of our oceans. Learning in and around local ecosystems helps students gain a stronger sense of responsibility for the waters that sustain life on our islands. By combining local knowledge, hands-on learning, and time in the water, keiki are able to explore local marine life and health of ecosystems.
These programs, whether single day or multi-week, are meant to encourage curiosity environmental challenges and the importance of conservation in our daily lives. Creating opportunities for students to understand these issues is essential in creating the next generation of ocean advocates.
